Alex Jones banned from YouTube

Another story I couldn't believe:

Apparently Alex Jones has been banned from YouTube.

Infowars says: "...the video networking website suspended the Infowarrior Channel, which was the replacement for the previously censored Alex Jones Channel.

When attempting to visit the Infowarrior Channel this morning, one is met with the message, “This account is suspended.”

Just as before, no credible reason has been provided for the suspension of channel. The original Alex Jones Channel was suspended because You Tube claimed that showing a computer print out of a Pittsburgh Post-Gazette news article on camera constituted “copyright violation,” despite the fact that the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette denied ever making a copyright complaint"

Not for a second that I would compare Michael Savage to the great Alex Jones but I was kinda thinking about Alex when I was writing about the Michael Savage affair, in the sense of conservative talk show hosts, and it's probably not really Michael Savage that they are interested in.

But here you have it again; 'we just gotta get rid of this annoying thing called conservatism', it can't be a legitimate part of public discourse, it absolutely cannot have a place on mainstream popular sites like YouTube, that's just an outrage, and those with the biggest followings, if they put even a foot out of line have to be punished.

Of course there really is some unpleasant shit, snuff effectively, that appears on YouTube that I imagine its directors are quite happy about.

Paul Watson of Prisonplanet, one of Alex's sites, suggests that YouTube has thrown itself over to big studio corporate interests. We also know that YouTube is working hand in hand with the Anti-Defamation League, who as I understand it, despite what some people in the US patriot movement suggest, has always been antagonistic towards Alex Jones, and generally has been at the forefront of trying to shut down discourse that it doesn't like the look of.

And we don't know for sure what happened here, but we do know that the ADL is part of a trend of organizations, movements and so on, that as a core part of their activities seek to delegitimize and pathologize any kind of conservative aspirations at all.

As for YouTube generally, they have damaged themselves enormously with this incident, and it's an absolute outrage.

Perhaps it's time the intelligent public stopped using them.

Check this interview out with Libertarian blogger with Sarah Michelle Spinosa… The censorship charge might be stretching it a bit. youtube.com/watch?v=o4uXXjqxfMU

Hi thanks for posting! Is that your radio show? Awesome. Interesting interview, thanks again for taking the time to post.

Alright. I didn't know who Sarah Michelle Spinosa is, so I had a look at her blog. I'm not knocking her at all, here is a post from her:

Im a lesbian and a Pagan. I honestly take offense to the idea of gay marriage for religious reasons. We LGBT folk are (very often) part of a movement that is proudly anti-establishment. Marriage is the ULTIMATE establishment concept. Why would any of us want to patronize it? Same sex marriage doesnt weaken hetero-marriages, it actually *empowers* the status quo. Nobody ever chanted, ‘were here, were queer, and we want to be like you!.

After looking at her blog, assuming the post isn't a joke, I think she's far too cool to be identify herself as part of that movement (by how it characterizes itself on the whole) by a long way.

And I'm not trying to say she hasn't got an angle on this about Alex, that maybe by nature of the game of politics, might cross people's minds.

Alex has occasionally dramatized things on his show. But Alex risks a lot of credibility with an army of people who will literally die for him by deliberately pulling that kind of stunt outright. It also implies Alex has no enemies at all, and I don't agree with that.

That's a different thing though to wether Alex then uses this as an opportunity.

But it's interesting she got something important right on Alex. Since 2006, but it's escalated recently in the last 4 months, Alex has come under enormous attack from one loose faction in the patriot movement basically alleging he's not talking enough about Israel, Zionism, or effectively a Jewish Question, and that's he's 'covering up' the 'truth'.

I find this allegation extremely pernicious and totally incorrect in every way and it can only really be one or more of the following:

1. Typical working class resentment/jealousy

2. Psychotic/damaged person troll behavior

3. COINTEL PRO

Maybe it's a bit of all three. Blogs and podcasts across the internet are polluted with needless pointless destructive inflammatory attacks on Alex, in fact I started to write about this a couple of weeks ago it's got so out of hand.

Yet ironically, they wouldn't get 1 single hit on their crappy sites if not for Alex and all they can do is attack him.

And what do they have in common ? Alex is successful at this, they aren't.

Thanks again for posting and for sharing that interview. It's look like a really good show you do, and Sarah seems like a really interesting lady.

I was banned from You Tube and I hadn't even uploaded a video.
Alex shouldn't expect special privileges especially since he applies the same standards that You Tube does to his sites.
I have been banned from the Alex Jones Info Wars site and not for making threatening comments.
His reason for exempting people is.
"It's my site and I can do whatever I want to."

Alex Jones has a seriously problem with being honest.
I know you will disagree with me and I realize you would like people to agree with Alex Jones but how can we when Alex Jones uses censorship then says You Tube is bad for using it? And if what Alex does is not censorship why is You Tube's considered censorship?
Doesn't anyone understand?
Hypocrisy is not only a sign of lying it's a sign of an abomination.

Anon 1: Sorry to hear you were banned from these sites. I don't understand why Alex started these comments and forums on his site when he said before he would never do that because it's too much of a distraction. But people change their mind.

Anon 2: I wouldn't expect people to agree with Alex about everything. I don't agree with every little thing Alex says myself.

What censorship are you talking about ?

I would imagine from his position he sees various people in the patriot movement taking pot shots at him, just because he's at the top of the pile in the alternative news. People get sloppy, they want to start making a name for themselves and they want to attack Alex Jones because being at the top he's an easy target. And how many people have there been like that ? A lot.

And then he's supposed to pick out who's got something to say and who's just another one of these characters taking a shot at him.

What would you do ?

J.UL1R4 I can live with Alex Jones banning from making comments.
I think that I was banned from You Tube because I kept complaining to them about an Itilian foreign guy on their site providing XXX videos to children and You Tube just ignored me. So after I complained to them about 10 or 20 times I contacted the U.S. Marshals office. I know it seems meager but I didn't think that You Tube allowed pornography. The only other bad thing I did was tell a cocky New York City atheist that if he lived down the street from me I'd probaby end his existence, that was because he was a asshole. As far as Alex goes I support a free country, but Alex Jones banned me from his site after he censored most of my comments, so I thought that sucked. Yahoo Answers banned me because I told the atheist that they had worms comming out of their butt holes, so the atheist grouped me and got me banned, they said they were sick of it. I have been banned most everywhere because people are a bunch of little girls and you can't hurt their feelings.

Hi Anon.

I must say I have some difficulty believing you got contacted by the U.S Marshall's office strictly because you complained about something on YouTube.

There are some very real issues you bring up, but were you acting aggressively ?

Don't get sucked into flame wars with some people who seem to be aggressively atheistic because some of them are quite damaged and vulnerable people and using the internet as a tool to attack others and engage in various forms of antisocial behavior they wouldn't be able to pursue in real life.

Some of them aren't the smartest people and atheism for them is way of dealing with their own personal issues. And giving atheism to these people is like giving a loaded gun to a child and they think they are empowered, and more rational than others, when in reality they are using the notion of atheism as justification to attack others, while acting extremely irrationally and hysterically, and hoping that badge will stop others being able to identify that.

But I'm also concerned because the last line you wrote is itself a troll sentence, and it's what trolls say that everyone else is 'too sensitive' and so on.

A troll wants a one way street where he can say what he likes but others aren't allowed to say anything back. And I don't like what you're writing there.

Don't be a troll yourself.

P.S if someone has a topic or information you feel Alex or some other alternative news outlet has not been interested in then I guess you can post it here, as long as you understand it doesn't mean I endorse it either.

Remember no one has any obligation to make time for the specific subject or theme you want to hear.

And the fact I'm not a blog about Jesuits doesn't mean I'm 'covering it up', it means I don't think it's a serious topic.

Thanks
